Craig Var, New Polzeath, Cornwall, Sleeps 12
Craig Var is a self catering house in what is possibly the most envied location in the Polzeath area. It overlooks Hayle Bay (or 'the beach' as it's known in the family) and the splendours of the National Trust land towards Pentire Head. It is detached, with off road parking for four cars, is one hundred yards from the surf (Hayle Bay), ten yards from the North Cornwall Coastal Path, and with exceptional views of the ocean, Trevose head and Stepper Point, uninterrupted by other houses. There is only open ocean between Craig Var and the eastern seaboard of the United States.
On the first floor the accommodation consists of two double bedrooms, one twin, a double bunk room, bathroom with shower and a separate loo. On the second floor there is one double bedroom with panoramic views, a twin bedroom and a separate bathroom/loo. On the ground floor there is a large shower/laundry room and wetsuit drying area with underfloor heating and a separate loo. In addition there is an outside privvy. The kitchen and living area, with stunning views of the sea through sliding picture windows, are open plan. The self catering kitchen is well equipped for large groups and has recently been upgraded with two large fridges and a range cooker. Craig Var is spacious enough for several families to enjoy their holiday together and yet at the same time maintain their independence. Craig Var is a much loved family home and has been in the family since the late 1960's, and where four generations of the same family have spent some truly memorable holidays.
The house is heated by electricity and oil, with a very substantial hot water tank in an airing/drying cupboard on the first floor. The downstairs shower has its own separate heating system via underfloor heating.
Craig Var is let on the strict condition that there is a responsible adult present at all times, and that the maximum accommodation capacity of 12 adults in the main house is not exceeded. Camping/tents in the garden is not permitted.
The house is very well situated for a number of local attractions, including the Camel Trail, numerous Golf Courses (St Enedoc, Trevose and The Point being the picks), the Eden Project, the Minack Theatre, the St Endellion Music Festival, Eglos Pottery, Tate St Ives, Historic Houses & Gardens including Lanhydrock and the world renowned Polzeath Bee Centre. We are well positioned for local fishing trips (from Port Isaac and Rock), Diving and Kayaking. Last but not least we are a comfortable distance from Padstow!
Please note that there is complimentary wifi in Craig Var but not in the Chauffeurs Cottage.
